Double Fine’s Massive Chalice Meets KickStarter Goal

With $1.2 million, the developer has its second straight success.

It seems Double Fine and KickStarter go hand-in-hand as far as success is concerned.  The company’s latest crowd-funded campaign for turn-based/tactical-strategy game Massive Chalice recently ended, far exceeding its original goal of $750,000.  The final tally ended up being just over $1.2 million dollars, with the game scheduled for release next year.

This marks the second straight game funded through KickStarter for the company, as it managed to get Double Fine Adventure – since retitled The Broken Age – to meet its goal as well. The original goal was $400,000, and it ended up clearing well over $3.3 million.

Congrats to Double Fine for getting the project funded.  We can’t wait to see how Massive Chalice comes together when it releases next year.
