Double Fine has revealed the name of their heretofore unnamed “Adventure” title. The crowd-funded point and click adventure will be called Broken Age.
“Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives,” reads the official description. “The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster–but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, a boy on a spaceship is living a solitary life under the care of a motherly computer, but he wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world. Adventures ensue.”
Broken Age was initially pitched as Double Fine Adventure on Kickstarter. The project raised about $3.45 million from more than 87,000 backers.
Broken Age can be pre-ordered DRM-free for PC, Mac and Linux, with $15 netting beta access. $30 allows for backer access, which includes access to the private backer-only discussion forum and episodes of 2 Player Productions’ documentary series on the development of the game, along with development materials and a digital soundtrack.
