Notably, there’s been speculation over whether future Bethesda releases will be Xbox exclusives and whether they’ll be added to Xbox Game Pass on day one.

We can’t answer those questions just yet, but we can enjoy a hot id Software/Bethesda game on Game Pass this coming October… Doom Eternal!

Doom Eternal Will Be Available on Xbox Game Pass in October

Microsoft announced today that Doom Eternal will be available on Xbox Game Pass on October 1, and will be added to Xbox Game Pass for PC sometime later this year. In the event that you missed out on Doom Eternal, you shouldn’t feel too bad.

We realize that time has blurred together this year based on everything that’s happened, so it can be easy to forget that Doom Eternal released this year back on March 20. Not 2019, it released on March 20, 2020.

If you were distracted by Animal Crossing or, you know, quarantine, the news that it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass is wonderfully convenient.

It serves as a nice reminder to check out Doom Eternal before the year ends, and it helps you avoid spending $59.99 on a digital copy of the game if you don’t have that kind of money to spend right now.

Of course, if you play Doom Eternal through Game Pass and fall in love with it, you’re always free to buy it to ensure you’re able to keep it forever.

In the announcement on the Xbox blog, a refresher of Doom Eternal’s description was shared, reading:

“In Doom Eternal, you step into the armor of the Slayer, an unstoppable and unyielding force with a singular mission – Raze Hell and save humanity. Battle demons in an epic single-player campaign that takes you to Earth, to Mars, through Hell, and across dimensions never seen before.

Your arsenal of powerful upgradeable guns, grenades and abilities makes you a force on the battlefield as you blast, stab, and shoot your way through demon hordes. Take what you need to survive – health, armor, and ammo – from your fallen enemies during the heat of battle.”

The post goes on to remind gamers that the DLC expansion, Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part One, is due out on October 20 and will be available for purchase on the Xbox Store.

The timing is great because you’ll be able to enjoy Doom Eternal through Game Pass, and once you soak in all of the action, you won’t have to wait too much longer before you can enjoy even more Doom Eternal goodness with the DLC expansion.

Again, Doom Eternal hits Xbox Game Pass on October 1 and Xbox Game Pass for PC sometime later this year.
