Bethesda, not looking to let Dishonored have all the fun as a fall release for 2012, has announced an official release date for its upcoming reboot, Doom 3: BFG Edition. The game, which will bring high-definition visuals and plenty of blood-spurting action to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, is set to arrive on October 16 in North America, and Europe three days later, on the 19th.
The game is set to be priced at $29.99 for PC, and only $39.99 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 – not a bad price considering what you’re getting in the package. Along with the original Doom games, you’ll also score enhanced visuals in Doom 3, the Resurrection of Evil downloadable content pack, seven new levels bundled into The Lost Mission mode, 5.1 surround sound, full support for Achievements and Trophies, improved rendering (you’ll see it on the creatures) and a new checkpoint save system.
Even if you think you know Doom down to a science, you owe it to yourself to pick this up and see if you’ve got what it takes.
