John Carmack: Doom 4 “Done When it’s Done”

If you were hoping to see Doom 4 anytime soon then I’d advise you not to hold your breath; id Software’s John Carmack has said it’ll be “done when it’s done”.

Carmack was speaking at QuakeCon when he broke the news (thanks Kotaku), thankfully adding: “essentially everybody will be focused on Doom 4,” which can only be a good thing.

“I hope that we do get back to mobile in various ways in the future, but the real aim is blockbuster triple-A titles, and for id that means Doom 4,” he stated.

There’s also a been brand new teaser trailer released to promote the upcoming Doom 3 BFG Edition’s eight new levels. The extra content has been titled The Lost Mission, and it arrives on Xbox 360, PC and PS3 with the game proper on October 16.
