Diablo 4 Metacritic Score Revealed

How did critics rate the newest Diablo game?

The long-awaited Diablo 4 is nearly here, as Blizzard’s new action RPG is set to launch on June 6, 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. However, prior to the release of the latest Diablo title comes the arrival of the game’s first review scores, including from Prima Games. So, what do critics think of the fourth main entry in the Diablo series? Let’s take a look, as we examine the critical consensus surrounding the newly released Diablo 4.

Diablo IV Critic Scores

According to the review aggregator Metacritic, Diablo 4 has received the following Metascores as of this writing:

  • 88 on PC
  • 89 on PS5
  • 92 on Xbox Series X|S
  • (There are currently no review scores for the PS4 or Xbox One versions of the game)

Based on these review scores, Diablo 4 has achieved acclaim from critics, as the game currently rates 15th in the history of the PS5, as well as ranking sixth place all-time for the Xbox Series X|S. According to the aggregate ratings of critics, it appears that the decade long hiatus between series entries has been well worth the wait.

Diablo 4 vs. Diablo 3 Metascores

To compare the fourth series entry to Diablo 3, it appears that the latest title has met or exceeded its 2012 predecessor, as Diablo 3 attained the following impressive, yet mostly lower Metacritic scores at launch:

  • 88 on PC
  • 86 on PS3
  • 87 on Xbox 360
