This Prima feature will tell you how to find the Sleeper Simulant Exotic Fusion Rifle in Destiny: The Taken King. Similar to other weapons in the game, you will need to complete several steps in order to finish the quest, but you cannot do all of this in a single day. You’ll need to block off some time, but if you get stuck, this walkthrough will explain everything, in particular the four Curious Transceiver Codes.

Before taking part in this quest, you need to obtain four DVALIN Fusion Rifle Relics and then hand these over to Gunsmith Banshee-44 at the Tower. You will randomly find these Relics while exploring the Earth, Moon, Mars and Venus. In fact, there’s a good chance you already have them, depending on how long you’ve played The Taken King expansion.
A 310 Fusion Rifle would have been sweeter, but this is where weapon infusion proves especially useful.
The First Firewall
Proceed to Orbit, and if you did things correctly up until now, there should be a notification on Earth that will take you to The First Firewall. Keep in mind this is a Level 41 quest, which brings you back to Rasputin’s bunker. You will need to kill multiple waves of Hive and Taken Knights, and the order these enemies appear is part of the puzzle. We’ll explain everything.
After slaughtering these foes you will come fact to face with a Taken boss that doesn’t pose much of a challenge; even solo Guardians should be able to dispose of it in no time. When it’s dead, you should acquire a drop for the Curious Transceiver. Open this in your inventory and you must enter four codes. Every Hive Knight you downed represents the top box, while Taken Knights fill out the bottom box. If we assign the top box the number 0 and the bottom box the number 1, the four codes are as follows:
- 0-1-0-0-1-1-1-0-1
- 0-1-0-0-1-1-0-0
- 0-1-1-1-0-1-1-1-0-0
- 0-1-0-1-0-1-0-0
Shadow Call
With that out of the way, return to Earth to finish the Shadow Call mission. This Level 41 quest will bring you back to the place where you completed Cayde’s Stash. The catch? You need to beat this quest within four minutes, but thankfully you can run past the majority of aliens standing in your way. Instead, focus your attention on the Tortured Wizards. Kill them and you get the IKELOS Fusion Core, an exotic drop.

IKELOS Fusion Core
This core provides hints on what to do next, none of which are overly complicated. We have the steps below.
- Ionized Shell Harmonics: Beat the Archive Mission on Venus
- Heavy Power Coupling: Dismantle a Legendary or Exotic Heavy Weapon
- Plasma Confinement Control Module 1: Warsat event on Earth
- Plasma Confinement Control Module 2: Warsat event on the Moon
- Plasma Confinement Control Module 3: Warsat event on Mars
No need for much of a walkthrough, since you should be able to complete the above objectives with little effort. If you’re after a Warsat, go with Destiny Public Events. There’s a good chance fellow Guardians will be around doing the same exact objectives.
With these tasks complete, bring the IKELOS Fusion Core back to Banshee-44. Unfortunately he doesn’t hand over the Sleeper Simulant right away. He needs time to do… something. Instead, go back to the Gunsmith the next day and he’ll have the remaining part of the quest lined up for you.
The Sleeper Stirs
When you revisit Banshee-44 the following day, he tells you to complete the Fallen S.A.B.E.R. Strike on Earth, but at Light Level 280. If this seems intimidating, no worries. Before fighting the Strike boss, be sure to activate a Three of Coins. Kill this foe and you will pick up the Sleeper Simulant Weapon Frame. Now head back to Banshee-44 yet again and he will hand over the prized Sleeper Simulant, a powerful 290 Exotic Fusion Rifle that goes into your Guardian’s Heavy Weapon slot.
