Destiny: How to Push The Speaker

Tell us about the great battle or we push you down the stairs.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

On September 8, Bungie unleashed Update 2.0 for Destiny in preparation of The Taken King. With a full week to spend until the expansion arrives, Destiny players resorted to unusual activities most of us never thought possible. The best, from what we’ve seen, is the one where they manage to push The Speaker, who we previously considered immovable.

How do you push The Speaker? Start by getting the Space Orb located to the left of the Cryptarch. From here, you need to move the Space Orb all the way to The Speaker’s platform, which isn’t necessarily the easiest thing to achieve. After doing this, carefully position it behind The Speaker (so hard) and then push the Orb from behind, causing the self-proclaimed “Voice of the Traveler” to move. Keep in mind he moves at slug speed.

In the above video, one person shows how to do this. The following collection of videos (click here to watch) are far more impressive. Four Guardians teamed up to push The Speaker down the stairs. We strongly suggest playing the video(s) with the sound up, because The Speaker’s one-liners make the goings on even more amusing.

We’ve seen images of The Speaker in a different location, but considering the time involved to move this guy, you probably need to reach a critical boredom level to make this sort of commitment.

Mercifully, The Taken King launches tomorrow, and we posted our free walkthrough and guide for Armsday, Exotic Weapon Blueprints and more.
