Destiny 2 The Witch Queen Trailer, Weapon Crafting, & More Revealed

In the trailer we see the giant Queen reviving Guardians for her army. The Hive Guardians are a new threat to the universe of Destiny. Players will take the fight to The Witch’s Throneworld and fight threats as they’ve never fought before.

For those unaware, Savanthunn is the sister of Oryx, who the Guardians slew back in The Taken King expansion in Destiny 1.

We look forward to taking down Savathun in The Witch Queen, hopefully. The expansion doesn’t release until February 22, 2022, but there is plenty to do in Destiny 2 in the meantime. Including the brand new Season of the Lost starting today.

You can check out the trailer below, and catch up on the entire stream here. Where the team made plenty of announcements like crossplay starting today, and new weapons like the Glaive, which is a first-person melee weapon. Crafting has also been announced for Destiny 2, and will begin when The Witch Queen expansion launches.

More details on crafting will come later, but as of right now we know that it will feature all of the new Throne World weapons and Bungie is looking into making it accessible for older legacy weapons as well. This will give players more ownership and customization over the weapons they love in the game.

Of course, if you’re a huge Destiny fan and are looking for something sick to put on your desk, the team at Bungie has also crafted a real Hive Guardian Ghost for the Collector’s Edition of The Witch Queen. More details on that will come soon, but we got a glimpse of it.

A lot happened for Destiny 2 today, including a tease of the final expansion in the Light vs Dark saga Destiny has been telling for almost ten years. The Final Shape is the expansion coming to Destiny 2 after both The Witch Queen and Lightfall and will be the end of this story. Bungie has plenty more of Destiny 2 after this expansion, but it seems like it will be a new story after that.
