Dead by Daylight Shop Receives a Massive Update but Misses an Important Feature

I'm kindly asking you to take more of my money with the addition of this feature.

Dead by Daylight has been one of my favorite multiplayer games for quite a while now, and it seems like the team at Behaviour is continuing to make the game better with every patch to this horrifying asymmetrical fright fest. I’ve been jump scared so many times at this point that the game is more about the fun than the frights, but one particular feature of the game still makes me want to scream, and it feels like such a basic oversight at this point — giftable cosmetics.

Included in the 7.7.0 PTB available for PC players at the time of this writing, a total revamp of the shop has been a long time coming. Players can finally interact with outfits both old and new, and mix and match them together before spending their Auric Cells and Iridescent Shards on clothing and gear for their favorite characters. But, the lack of an option to gift skins to friends feels like such a basic oversight at this point, and even fans in the replies to both official and fan accounts are still fed up by this missing functionality.

While Dead by Daylight Mobile may not be made by Behaviour, the fact that this version has not only the ability to gift skins to friends but also other exclusive game modes may make fans of the vanilla experience consider picking up their mobile devices to give this version of the game a try. If you do, be warned — there is also a Gacha mechanic here that isn’t present in the base game, so you may find yourself spending more money than originally anticipated.

It does seem that the team at Behaviour is listening to fan feedback, and a feature to finally outfit your SWF with gifted outfits could come in the future. New game modes have been slowly trickling in, even if they are just a limited-time event, and long-requested accessibility features are finally starting to pop up in this terrifying experience. Maybe if the shop revamp goes over well enough, we’ll finally get this feature added as well.
