Even after all these years, Dead By Daylight is continuing to steamroll our expectations. With the latest introduction of Nicolas Cage as a Survivor in the DBD Universe, fans can’t wait to get hands-on with their favorite actor. Wouldn’t it be great if you were able to test him out before other players can do so? Then, you’ll need to get ready to jump into the world of Public Test Builds, which give you almost instant access to the newest changes coming to your favorite multiplayer game. But what do you need to do to make this happen? Let’s find out how to join the Public Test Build in Dead by Daylight.
What is The Public Test Build in Dead By Daylight?
As mentioned above, the PTB gives players the chance to jump into the shoes of the newest characters in the game. In January, we’ll have a chance to jump into the shoes of a popular horror icon and venture into the Fog with them, so there are plenty of reasons why you may want to give the PTB a try. Let’s find out how to do it easily.
How Do I Sign Up For Public Test Build Betas in Dead By Daylight?

Can You Carry Your Progress Over From the PTB to Your Main Game?
This is one of the downfalls of the PTBs since you will not be able to bring your progress back to the main game once the PTB comes to an end. So, any progress that you make during your time in the PTB is lost once you either revert back to the Official Release or once the PTB comes to an end.
So, it’s a bit of a double-edged sword at this point. Sure, you get a chance to jump into the world and test out the newest Perks, Characters, and more, but you won’t retain your Bloodpoints or Shards when you come back into the game. If you’ve already dumped enough time into the game, it may be more than worth the effort.
Can You Play The PTB On Consoles?
If you’re a Dead by Daylight player on Console, you may be wondering if you’re able to jump into these tests so you can try out the newest and greatest. Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, there is no way to join the PTB if you’re playing on a console, and it doesn’t seem to be something that they would be able to implement in the future, either. So, if you’re hoping to partake in these betas, you may need to double dip and purchase the game again on Steam to try out these new features.
No matter if you’re a new player or someone like myself who has fallen in love with its unique take on multiplayer, Dead By Daylight is an interesting approach to the familiar scene of online gaming.
