With Dark Souls II just a few months away from release, Namco Bandai has begun pushing the highly-anticipated sequel something fierce. Among the promotions planned for it – including a closed beta that recently launched – the publisher has announced a forthcoming digital comic book that ties in with the game’s universe.

The comic book was put together by veteran comic book writers Rob Williams (Judge Dredd, Star Wars Tales) and Andi Ewington (45), and drawn out by artist Simon Coleby (Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper).

Sub-titled Into the Light, this graphic novel will feature an interesting side tale that ties in with the forthcoming sequel, though specific events weren’t mentioned just yet. Namco plans to distribute the book digitally upon release this January, as well as limited print numbers “for certain editions of the game in certain countries.”

Dark Souls II releases on March 11th for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and will arrive on PC shortly after.
