Potential Cyberpunk 2077 Release Date Leaked

A leak online claims that we'll be seeing Cyberpunk 2077 a lot sooner than expected.

From rumors that we wouldn’t be seeing CD Projekt RED’s newest IP until 2022, to rumors that it’s coming next month, Cyberpunk 2077 has been the center of the rumor mill for awhile now. The highly anticipated new game coming from the studio that gave us The Witcher series has a lot of interest around it, which is what makes the latest leak about a possible November 2019 release incredibly intriguing.

ProGamingShop, a Slovakian online gaming store that also gave us a Last of Us Part II release date leak, is claiming that Cyberpunk 2077 will be releasing on November 28, 2019. Obviously looking at the date, it’s a placeholder. The 28th is Thanksgiving in the United States and it’s a Thursday, both highly unlikely for a huge launch. Date-specifics aside, what is interesting is that this could be a placeholder, meaning that it could be slated for a November launch – though not for the 28th.

We’re keeping this one firmly in the rumor pile for now, simply because the studio has said numerous times already that it’s a long way off from launch, despite technically being fully playable. With next-gen talk ramping up ever since Sony released the first official details for the PlayStation 5, and Xbox rumored to be showing off something big for this year during E3, it would be very surprising to see a 2019 release for Cyberpunk 2077.

Anything is possible, however, as the team works around the clock to make huge strides with their ambitious open-world RPG.

Though we don’t have an official release date at this time outside of leaks, we do at least know a little more about the game and its main character:

“Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend.”
