Crimson Desert’s First Expansion Gets a 10% Pre-Order Discount, But Not on PC
That diving set looks nice though!
Pearl Abyss has updated Crimson Desert to an Enhanced Edition across all platforms and announced its first major paid expansion, Charting the Unknown. It’s now up for pre-order with exclusive diving gear, but there’s a catch for PC players: the 10% discount for existing Enhanced owners is only available on consoles.
PC Players Miss Out on the 10% Discount for Charting the Unknown
Right now, if you head over to Steam or the Epic Games Store, Charting the Unknown is available to pre-order at full price on both storefronts. Even if you already own the game, you’ll have to pay the full $25 price. However, console users who own the Standard or Deluxe Edition of Crimson Desert get a generous 10% discount for the upcoming expansion.
Why PC players are left out hasn’t been explained by Pearl Abyss, but it’s still a bit disappointing, even if the discount doesn’t amount to all that much.
Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown Pre-Order Bonus
If you pre-order Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown, you will receive the Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka and the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane.

The diving sets fit nicely with the expansion’s focus on underwater exploration, and I really like the little touches that still make them feel more like proper armor sets than just generic diving gear.

Pearl Abyss confirmed that Crimson Desert will not be available on the Mac App Store at launch. The Epic Games Store only lets you wishlist it for now. For PC, the expansion’s system requirements remain unchanged from the base game.

Charting the Unknown is coming to all platforms on October 16, 2026.
Pearl Abyss has been rapidly updating the game since launch, often introducing substantial system overhauls where needed. They delivered an ambitious world, flaws and all, and it’s nice to see them keep expanding it in a meaningful way.
