Crash Bandicoot Cosmetics Coming to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2

Have you been itching for new cosmetics in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2? Well, you’re in luck as a ton of new goodies are being added to the game tomorrow, November 6 at 8 a.m. (PST). The update will be free for all Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 players and will be available on all platforms.

The update adds a lot to the game including new Create-a-Skater items based around Crash Bandicoot. The items come in celebration of the release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s All About Time. The cosmetic pack will include a new board, new shirts, and new hats based around Crash, his sister Coco, and the new Quantum masks.

Not a huge Crash Bandicoot fan? No problem, the update adds a number of other cosmetics including some sick looking fan-created decks. Three fans won the ability to have their deck designs added to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, and all players will be able to use these deck designs in Create-a-Skater if they wish.

Feeling charitable as we inch closer to the holiday season? Vicarious Visions noted in their blog post that gamers will be able to purchase The Birdman Pack for a limited time. All proceeds will go towards helping the non-profit, The Skatepark Project.

Included in The Birdman Pack are ten decks for your Create-a-Skater including five decks that are new to the franchise that are, “A mix of Birdhouse and Powell-Peralta decks along with one created specifically for The Skatepark Project.”

While cosmetics are great, you may be wondering whether the update includes changes to the actual game. The answer to this question is yes. First, Solo Tours are being added to the game in the November 6 update. In the blog post from Vicarious Visions, Solo Tours are described as follows:

“With this update, you can now replay the Tours mode – that’s the THPS 1 and THPS 2 Tours – with individual skaters. At the start of each Solo Tour, all Goals and Medals are reset, allowing you to re-complete them while collecting those sweet, sweet Stat Points to max out your skater.”

Vicarious Visions goes on to assure players that their progress in previous Tours will be retained as the current Tours mode is being moved to Crew Tours, and you’ll be able to find your previous Tours completion status here.

In addition to Solo Tours, over 100 new Challenges across 10 new Challenge Sets are being added to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2.

“Expect to find new objectives around the new Solo Tour mode, Multiplayer, Classic Park Challenges that involve hitting new high scores, Create-a-Park Combo Challenges, and Combo Practice Challenges, a set of challenges designed for skaters to practice combos and critical skating skills needed to shred in Tours or Multiplayer.”

As you might expect, these new Challenges will award you with XP that’ll help you get closer to reaching Level 100, and Cash that you can spend at the in-game Skate Shop.

“The other major tuning pass applies to Multiplayer playlists; both Jams and Competitive will better randomize Parks and Scores, adding a bit more variety to your next online session,” notes Vicarious Visions at the end of the blog post.

Overall, there’s a lot of new content to look forward to in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 starting tomorrow, November 6. The content update will be available to all players for free across all platforms, while things like The Birdman Pack will be available for optional purchase.
