Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Gameplay Trailer Drops, Coming This October.

It’s been 84 years, but we’re finally getting a Crash Bandicoot 4. OK, so it’s only been 20 years but still – that’s a long time! For those excited, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is officially making its way over to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this October and we’ve got some incredible gameplay to tide us over before then.

Crash Bandicoot 4 continues on the narrative of Warped, but decades later. After the takedown of Neo Cortex, Uka Uka, and Dr. N, 4 sees the trio of baddies make their escape after being isolated on a planet far, far away. With the Bad Guy Group making their grand escape, Crash is going to have to deal with much more than just villains; he’s now going to be going face-to-face with the fabric of time and space itself ripping at the seams.

In the above gameplay, we can see that the future of Crash is very much still a platformer but with a more modern twist. Looks like Crash is getting his Titanfall on because the new gameplay reveal shows off wall jumping, some epic rope swinging, and more. There’s also a way to slow down time with the Quantum Masks.

It’s interesting to see the fruits of this particular labor, especially given the tumultuous roller coaster that was the early 2000s when there was a rush of Crash releases that seemed very almost needless. While trying something new can be fun, many of those launches didn’t feel organically Crash, which left many long-time fans wanting a true sequel and less spins.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time makes its official debut on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 2nd. While no Nintendo Switch port was mentioned, it would be awesome to see the continuation land on the hybrid console as well, but we’ll have to wait and see what the studio does with that in the future.
