Check Out This Magnificent Charizard In New Obsidian Flames Pokemon TCG Set

Take a look at your next chase card.

Obsidian Flames is the next English Pokemon TCG set coming out, and some of the cards that have already been revealed are incredible. However, we recently got a look at the new Charizard EX card that is part of the new set, and well, take a look for yourself.

Obsidian Flames Brings a Beautiful New Charizard in Pokemon TCG Set

The Charizard will surely be many players’ new chase card for the set. It features a beautiful stained-glass art style.

It comes with the following abilities and moves:

Infernal Reign: When you play this Pokemon from your hand to evolve one of your Pokemon during your turn, you may search your deck for up to 3 basic energy cards and attach them to your Pokemon in any way you like. Then, shuffle your deck.

Burning Darkness (180+): This attack does 30 more damage for each Prize card your opponent has taken.

Charizard is often the mascot of much of Pokemon, and the Trading Card Game is no different. We’ve seen time and time again the full-art Charizard cards go for hundreds of dollars. We have a feeling this one will be no different. Not only is the card itself beautiful, but it’s pretty functional as well.

Obsidian Flames continues the Terastilize mechanic in the TCG that Paldea Evolved brought with it. As the card game mechanics often follow suit with the game, it’s no surprise The Pokemon Company is keeping things consistent between the TCG and the recently-released Pokemon Scarlet and Violet video games.

There hasn’t been a ton of the English set of cards revealed yet, especially in the full art department, but we do also have a look at the full art Ryme card, which you can see below.

We’re still waiting on the full set, which releases on August 11, 2023. So not much longer until you’ll be able to start cracking packs in the hope of getting this Charizard.
