Captain Olimar and Pikmin Officially Coming to Super Smash Bros.

The little astronaut and his helpers make their return to the series.

With Pikmin 3 just a few weeks away from release on the Wii U, Captain Olimar and his multi-colored friends have been busy enough as it is.  Now they’ll need to add “fighting” to their to-do list.

Nintendo confirmed that Olimar and his Pikmin friends will return to Super Smash Bros. when it is released for Wii U and the 3DS.  He made his debut with Brawl on the Wii a few years ago, proving to be quite an effective fighter with the help of his beloved Pikmin.

Olimar joins a number of familiar faces in the game, including Mario, Link, Kirby, Fox McCloud and other Nintendo stars, along with new additions like Animal Crossing’s Villager, the Wii Fit Trainer and Capcom’s iconic Mega Man.

Super Smash Bros. will arrive for Nintendo’s Wii U and 3DS systems next year.
