Call of Duty: Ghosts Ignition Guide – How to Launch the Rocket

How to launch the rocket and burn your opponents with an ignition test.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

In the interest of full transparency, Ignition is our favorite map of the Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC. While most players lean towards Fog, we prefer the brighter, cleaner environment that Ignition has to offer. It also helps there are some great dynamic events that not only look cool, but can also be used to kill the enemy.

How to Launch the Rocket

Just like Fog and Containment, Ignition has a dynamic event controlled by Field Orders. If you pull it off, you can launch a rocket that will kill anyone who happens to be underground. What’s even cooler, your mini map will show you when someone is in the line of fire, allowing for maximum damage.

How to Launch the Ignition Test

Found directly in front of the Ghosts spawn, there’s a rocket that can be activated, causing it to burn anyone standing behind it. To launch the test, simply follow the on-screen prompts at the controls. Once you trigger this dynamic event there’s a cool down period, forcing you to wait before triggering it again.

How to Launch the Crashed Rocket

This one isn’t player controlled, but at the start of the match a timer near the Federation spawn will begin to countdown. When it hits zero, there’s a rocket launched, which is immediately shot down. If you’re standing in the middle of the map, you might want to move. The debris from the explosion will plummet to the ground, drastically altering the center of the map.
