Borderlands 3 Release Date Confirmed In New Announcement Trailer

A leak earlier this week has proven true with a brand new trailer confirming Borderland 3's September release

Earlier this week, a deleted tweet by the team over at Gearbox revealed a September 13th release date for Borderlands 3. Since the now-deleted post happened on April Fool’s, many were skeptical at its validity. Thanks to a new trailer, it looks like the previous reveal wasn’t a prank at all because we’ve got an explosive new video confirming the game’s September release as well as a first look at the box art!

According to the video’s official description, “The original shooter-looter returns, packing bazillions of guns and an all-new mayhem-fueled adventure. Blast your way through new worlds and enemies as one of four brand new Vault Hunters, each with deep skill trees, abilities, and customization. Play solo or join with friends to take on insane enemies, collect loads of loot and save your home from the most ruthless cult leaders in the galaxy.”

From returning faces like TellTale’s Rhys and our beloved Maya, to a whole host of new characters to meet for the first time, the long-awaited newest entry in the Borderlands franchise is looking incredible! Though the September release date may seem far off, the title itself has been teased for years now, so to finally have both confirmation and an amazing first look is good news for both long-time fans and newcomers to the franchise as a whole.

Even better? There will be a full-on gameplay reveal happening next month on May 1st, Gearbox confirms. Though our previous two looks have been nothing short of stunning, they were still cinematic. May 1st will give interested fans a chance to see real-time gameplay action to see what truly lies ahead for the third game coming soon.

Borderlands 3 is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
