Gearbox has announced a new free update for all Borderlands 2 players.  The update will  increase the game’s inventory size and allow players to hold more of the game’s Eridium resource and spend it on new Storage Deck Upgrades.

It is expected that this patch will be the same one to add the new Ultimate Vault Hunter’s Mode.  That expected update is coming April 2.

Another patch released the same day will also include a boost to the game’s level cap from 50 to 61 along with a new Pearlescent weapon rarity.  By contrast, this update will cost $4.99 if you don’t already have the Borderlands 2 Season Pass.

Krieg the Psycho, the game’s sixth playable character, will release in May for $9.99.  The final major update to the game will be the fourth story DLC coming in June.
