BG3 Players Love This Evil Character and Think the Game Needs More Like Her

Is she really as much of a monster as we all thought?

Baldur’s Gate 3 came out swinging, with some of the most distinctive and memorable characters of not only this year but also in the history of gaming. From the sultry and sensual Astarion stealing our hearts (and sometimes, our blood) to Shadowheart slowly adopting the nickname of Shart on different social media platforms, gamers can’t get enough of this ragtag band of heroes. However, Baldur’s Gate 3 has one of the best characters waiting down the line for them, with Minthara finally getting the respect and recognition put on her name that she has always deserved.

While you may see plenty of posts looking upon Minthara with lustful eyes, due to her extreme beauty, her soul and personality have now begun entrancing countless explorers hoping to make their way toward Baldur’s Gate. The acid-tongued Drow has always been considered one of the best companions to accompany the player throughout their adventure once she has been discovered. Still, the secrets within her character make her stand out even against some of the more iconic party members.

Players on Reddit have also taken extreme notice of how different she feels compared to other companions you may encounter, with the OP of the post above mentioning;

She is a noble drow from Menzoberrazan and her main goal once you recruit her is vengeance and taking the cult of the Absolute power for you and herself.

Countless other players have also mentioned how much they appreciate her breaking the mold and being unabashedly unashamed to showcase her true intentions directly toward the player character. Another poster, u/Active_Valuable_2593 makes note that they wish there were “1-2 more companions like her” to help keep things more interesting.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is filled with countless characters who share a common goal, but Minthara isn’t afraid to break the mold here. With her venomous words toward the main character, other gamers have also mentioned how much they adore her and her end goal, all while wishing the choices for an “evil” playthrough were more in line with what she’s thinking.

The Dark Urge playthrough is a good companion piece to the thoughts of Minthara, but we, as players, can always be more evil.

Even with other characters that can have some relatively evil actions, they never quite reach the overall heights that Minthara brings to the table. As Larian Studios continues to refine its GOTY contender to become even greater than before, we can only hope that the ability to cause a little more mischief with our favorite companions will be possible shortly. Learn from Minthara and let everyone become an irredeemable monster.
