The journey to Baldur’s Gate can be rather grim, depending on the actions you partake in during your journey. It’s life or death in these horrifying plains, so making sure that you and your companions take a little time to relax is honestly extremely important. Thankfully, you’ll get the perfect opportunity to do just this as you approach the Third Act of the game, where you can challenge Harvard Willoughby to an old-tyme standup joke battle, and it seems that players can’t get enough of it.
With a plethora of witty jokes and responses, players are starting to realize that their companions may be just as morbid as the choices on offer here. To win this battle of wits, you’ll need to ensure that you’ve got the crowd and your companions on your side, with members of your party approving or disapproving of your actions and answers. Thankfully, u/Impossible_Active271 has gone through and compiled all of the answers you can give, and the responses you’ll receive. While I’m not anywhere near the end of Baldur’s Gate 3, some of these jokes are absolutely hysterical, with this one in particular having me in stitches:
- I tried sleeping with a dragonborn the other night, but it didn’t work out – he had reptile dysfunction.
- Disapprove: Nobody
- Approve: Everyone
Sure, it’s a classic dad joke with a bit of a high-fantasy twist, but it still helps get a chuckle out of me. Thankfully, countless other posters on this Reddit thread agree that the members of your squad all have the strangest sense of humor. Thankfully, no matter how far the reach, these jokes all seem to hit just right, with plenty of posters commenting on their favorite joke from the list.
So, while the journey to Baldur’s Gate may be longer than we could have ever imagined, filled with trials and tribulations that would send a lesser man to the pits of an asylum, we’re all glad to see that our compatriots can share in the joy of a silly joke now and then. Even if some of the jokes that are in the line of a play on words don’t exactly land right with Lae’zel.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now on PC and PlayStation 5. An Xbox Series X and S release is scheduled before the end of the year.
