Assassin’s Creed Mirage is Releasing Sooner Than Expected

It seems the original release date was the Mirage all this time.

Fans eager for a return to form in their favorite franchise will need to free up some time sooner than expected. While the most recent Assassin’s Creed games have been epics told over hundreds of hours, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a smaller, more accessible title for those that miss the days of trailing a foe and ending their lives more creatively. But what does this mean for fans of the franchise?

Originally slated to release on October 12, 2023, it seems the team at Ubisoft is excited to get this title into the hands of gamers earlier than originally anticipated. Announced today on their X Account, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been pushed up to release a week earlier, now releasing on October 5, 2023.

For fans that are skeptical about jumping into this title, you aren’t alone. I haven’t personally jumped into the world of Assassin’s Creed since the Unity on launch day, and we remember how that one went. Thankfully, those subscribed to Ubisoft+ will have Day One access without having to spend a dime extra.

The smaller world and more intimate scaling seem like a win for those craving a classic AC adventure, and Mirage is looking to deliver in spades. Featuring a city size more akin to classic titles like Syndicate and Revalations, we won’t need to trek across countless landscapes to obtain our next goal.

I, for one, am cautiously optimistic about the change, and I can only hope that this reignites the flame that the AC series once held in my heart. The smaller scale city, tighter mission structure, and the introduction of Bagdahd into the lore of the series could be a home run for the franchise, especially after players were feeling a bit burnt out after the latest release. Time will only tell, but at least we get a week’s head start compared to where we were before.
