Nintendo may not have a new console for you to pre-order, but they still have ways of separating you from your money.
On Twitter, Nintendo of America shared the exciting news that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition Nintendo Switch is back in stock!
That’s right, instead of having to pay a higher price to scalpers and third-party sellers, you can pick one up for its original sale price at select retailers for a limited time.
The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch is Back in Stock
After looking through different retailers looking for the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition Nintendo Switch, it seems like the best place to purchase one is at GameStop.
Right now, GameStop has two options for you: the console by itself for $299.99 (USD), and a bundle that includes the console and a copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons for $359.99 (USD).
Once these are sold out, there are a few options left when it comes to purchasing the ACNH Switch and it’s primarily from third-party sellers.
Ebay has the ACNH Switch sold by various sources from $420 and up. We strongly encourage you to compare review scores and only buy from reputable sellers on eBay and elsewhere.
On Amazon, the ACNH Switch can be purchased from $460+ (not as ideal as paying $299 that’s for sure).
Again, you can expand the list of third-party sellers and compare the number of user reviews they have, and how high their review score is.
Walmart also has the console in stock through third-party offers, however the cost is higher than Amazon, with the ACNH Switch starting at $475 and up at Walmart.
If the purchase price is simply too high, even at GameStop and Best Buy where the console is $299.99, there are other ways to get the feel of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition Nintendo Switch without actually buying the whole Switch.
You can buy exterior shells for your Joy-Cons to change what color they are, with options that include the cute mint/blue pair that come with the ACNH Switch.
You can also purchase skins for your Nintendo Switch set, though these don’t mirror the ACNH Switch exactly. You can certainly find some cute, inexpensive options by pursuing this route though!
Adding a few more ideas in, you can find accessories with the same color scheme concept in mind, like protective cases for your Switch in mint green, and things like Animal Crossing-themed carrying cases like this one and this one.
There are even Animal Crossing-themed controllers like this one from PowerA. It really depends on what you’re looking for and the money you want to spend.
For the full, authentic Animal Crossing: Horizons Edition Nintendo Switch, your best bet is GameStop or Best Buy right now which have the console available at $299.99.
Once those run out, there are third-party sellers who have the console available for a much higher price, but you can still get the console itself.
To save money, you can also pursue workarounds for the Nintendo Switch you already own or plan to buy.
Hopefully this helps, we wish you luck in your quest to purchase the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition Nintendo Switch while it’s back in stock.
