Angry Birds. Millions of folks love ‘em, and they continue flinging their way towards evil pigs in new games and expansions every year. Now, you’ll be able to do so –in 3D! (Cue dramatic music.)
IGN has reported that Rovio is working with the folks at Activision on a retail release called Angry Birds Trilogy for Nintendo 3DS. In addition, the compilation will also come to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, though in a regular 2D state. Ah, well, you’ll still have fun, I think.
The compilation will include three games – Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio. There’s no explanation as to why the latest Angry Birds game, Space, isn’t included here, but at least you get hundreds of puzzles to solve in the meantime.
“You can think of the game as the ultimate collector’s edition,” said Rovio executive vice president of games Petri Jarvilehto. “There are new cinematics, extra and other entertaining content. In addition all of the existing material has been uprezzed and re-treated for the high-resolution and big screen.”
The game will support StreetPass on the 3DS, as well as PlayStation Move and Kinect to some extent. We’ll have more coverage on this release in an upcoming preview!
