When it came out last summer to coincide with the blockbuster movie of the same name, Activision’s The Amazing Spider-Man did serviceable justice to the web-slinger, giving players the freedom to swing through New York City’s streets while battling heinous criminals and stopping a city-wide epidemic.
This November, PS Vita owners will get the chance to get into the swing of things all over again. Activision has announced that it will bring the game to Sony’s handheld, just in time for this week’s New York Comic-Con.
Most of the action from the original game will be intact, including the ability to free-roam throughout the city for missions, while using various abilities, including Web Rush, to get around. The game will also take advantage of the PS Vita’s utilities, allowing players to pinch-and-zoom the screen for better navigation, as well as using the gyroscopic functionality to take real pictures for in-game action.
There’s no word yet if all the game’s original console content will make it into the port – including the Stan Lee and Rhino DLC – but we’ll find out soon enough.
The Amazing Spider-Man swings into action on November 19th for $39.99.
