Alan Wake won’t be getting a sequel anytime soon, but you can get the first game for free alongside For Honor on the Epic Games Store. The Epic Games Store offers free games as part of their services but the latest addition has got to be my favourite. Though For Honor has absolutely improved since launch, it’s Alan Wake that you absolutely shouldn’t sleep on.

Both titles are expected to go free on August 2nd, with The War of Mine and Moonlighter being this week’s free grabs. Simply load up the launcher and BAM, free games! You’re not going to want to miss out on Alan Wake. Seriously, I can’t recommend it enough!

For those that want a more hack n slash style of combat, Ubisoft’s For Honor is also for free. Though it had a pretty rough launch, the online game has evolved immensely since then with a loyal following and very active player base. Both are free for a limited time starting August 2nd, so don’t miss out!

For those that are unfamiliar with Alan Wake, and because it’s clearly my recommendation, it was a critically acclaimed psychological thriller that came out back in 2010. “When the wife of the best-selling writer Alan Wake disappears on their vacation, his search turns up pages from a thriller he doesn’t even remember writing. A dark presence stalks the small town of Bright Falls, pushing Wake to the brink of sanity in his fight to unravel the mystery and save his love.” The story was thrilling but progression on a true sequel just couldn’t get up and running, which is a disappointment because the first title truly offered something special.
