Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure created quite a multi-million dollar phenomenon when Activision released it last year, with hundreds of thousands of figures sold and hours worth of gameplay for all ages to enjoy. Now, it’s about to take a Giant step forward.
The company has announced that Toys For Bob is just about done with development on the sequel, Skylanders Giants, and the game will be hitting stores on October 21. It will be available as a game only release (for those who already own the previous portal and toys, which work with the sequel), as well as through a bundle package with special collector’s edition figures. Pricing hasn’t been figured out yet, but we’re guessing around the $50-$80 range.
In addition, Activision also unveiled a new character in the mix, a killer bee named Swarm that can dish out a whole lot of damage, helping out his fellow Skylanders in their time of need. You can watch him in action in the video linked here.
We’ve already posted a Skylanders hands-on special, so be sure to look that up to get an idea of how the game works. Bring the Sting!
