Before the arrival of XCOM: Enemy Unknown last year, 2K Games was hard at work on another project in the franchise that took place in the 60's. It's been ages since we've heard anything about that particular project, but 2K has finally announced that it's coming.
The publisher has christened the game The Bureau: XCOM Declassified and it's coming our way later this Summer. In the game, you'll play intelligence officer William Carter who joins The Bureau after learning that aliens have kicked off an invasion against the United States. Naturally, you and your team are the only ones that can stop them.
The game will be tactical and you have to rely on your team (no one-man army here) to save the world in pure XCOM fashion. You'll also utilize a number of tools and weapons along the way, mastering each one as you slowly but surely retake the country from alien havoc. A new Battle Focus system will also be introduced, letting you execute your attacks with utmost precision.
We'll have a strategic preview of The Bureau: XCOM Declassified in the weeks ahead, leading into its August 20th release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. In the meantime, you can watch the game's new trailer here. Huzzah, it's back!
