2K Games, in conjunction with Gearbox, has announced a new contest that Borderlands 2 fans won’t want to miss. The $100,000 Loot Hunt will enable players to complete daily objectives in the game – no matter what version they own – to compete for both in-game and physical prizes.

The contest will kick off on October 11th at 10:00 am EDT, and resume on November 7th at 5:00 AM EDT.

Here’s how it works. Each day during this event, targets will be available to hunt down in the game. Players who manage to get this person or thing will then be entered to win a weekly prize, as detailed in the video below. These include PlayStation Vita systems, NVIDIA Shield devices and more. These entrants will also be put into a grand prize drawing, where they can win $50,000 cash.

Only 28 players will be able to enter each day, so it’s recommended you hunt for the target as soon as you know who it is.

“Claptrap serves as the master of ceremonies for this grand Loot Hunt, but each week a new friendly face from Borderlands 2 will dish out daily targets that loot hunters can take down to enter themselves into the sweepstakes,” Gearbox president Randy Pitchford explained. “As a diehard vault hunter, I am most excited for the bounty associated with each target – unique pieces of in-game loot that will drop one hundred percent of the time.”

The contest coincides with the special Game of the Year Edition of Borderlands 2, which launches on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC this coming Tuesday, November 8th. Good luck, and win one for Claptrap!
