As part of Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, many systems have been revamped and overhauled. The cyberware system is no exception. A new piece of chrome was a part of the update, the Cellular Adapter. Players would have their curiosity lifted upon seeing a whole perk dedicated to its use. It certainly is a useful item, so you may be inclined to use it after learning a bit about it. Here is how to get the Cellular Adapter, and what it’s used for.
What is the Cellular Adapter in Cyberpunk 2077?
The Cellular Adapter is a piece of cyberware that increases your armor, health, carrying capacity, and at higher levels, a range of other stats. It is a part of the Integumentary System. There are five tiers of the Cellular Adapter, each providing better stats than the previous iteration.
A tier 5 Cellular Adapter has the following stats:
- +146 armor
- +2.6 health
- +13 carrying capacity
- +1% explosion resistance
- +0.5% tech weapon damage
- +0.5% health item recharge speed
- +0.5% grenade recharge speed
Note that every Cellular Adapter from tier 3 and upward has the same stat increases, aside from armor, health, and carrying capacity. Every Cellular Adapter takes up 30 cyberware capacity, which is pretty expensive. However, the Cellular Adapter provides some of the best armor bonuses for the Integumentary System, making it worth using just for that. If you want to implement this cyberware into a heavy cyberware build, you’ll need to invest some perk points in reducing the general capacity cost of cyberware, or in increasing your maximum capacity.

Where to get the Cellular Adapter in Cyberpunk 2077
The Cellular Adapter in Cyberpunk 2077 will be sold by ripperdocs as per usual. Go to your closest one and see if they’re selling it. Each ripperdoc will sell the items at different tiers, so find one you’re happy with and can afford. A tier 5 Cellular Adapter costs over 80,000 eddies, where a cheaper one can be bought for under 20,000.
To install the cyberware, you’ll need the Build Different perk, located here in the technical ability skill tree. Unlock it, and you’ll be able to use the Cellular Adapter. Make sure to only buy the piece of chrome once you’ve unlocked the perk.
