Fallout 76 Skyline Valley: Help, capture, or kill Hugo outcomes

After fighting an epic battle against Hugo in the final quest of Fallout 76: Skyline Valley, you must decide his fate and you can either help, kill, or capture him. Depending on which option you choose, you will earn a different outcome that changes the narrative of the expansion. Keep in mind that the rewards you receive are the same, no matter which decision you go with.

Help Hugo in Fallout 76

If you decide to help Hugo during the Eye of the Storm quest in Fallout 76, then Hugo will remain the Overseer of Vault 63. Choosing this option will cause Hugo to return to his desk at the Dark Manor and he will be very grateful for your generosity.

Capture Hugo in Fallout 76

If you decide to capture Hugo, then the outcome of the quest is a little different. Capturing Hugo in Fallout 76: Skyline Valley will cause James Oberlin to become the new Overseer of Vault 63 and claim the desk that was once Hugo’s at the Dark Manor.

Kill Hugo in Fallout 76

Lastly, killing Hugo in Fallout 76: Skyline Valley will result in an additional dialogue that asks the player to confirm that they actually want to kill him. After confirming that you indeed want to kill Hugo, Audrey Stolz will become the new Overseer of Vault 63. Keep in mind that Hugo doesn’t drop any rare items or loot, so don’t expect to claim a special reward.

At the end of the day, your decision on whether to help, capture, or kill Hugo in Fallout 76: Skyline Valley depends on your feelings toward Hugo and who you would like to see become the Overseer of Vault 63. I personally didn’t like Hugo very much as a character, and I preferred James Oberlin, so I went with the capturing option. It doesn’t make much of a difference either way though.
