Does Planet Zoo 2 Have Challenge Mode?

No, unlike the original title, Planet Zoo 2 does not feature a Challenge Mode, and, instead, there are three separate modes to choose from.

Career Mode serves as the starting point, offering a tutorial alongside progression into the game’s more advanced system, while Sandbox and Franchise Mode are both comparable, albeit with some key differences.

In Franchise Mode, players work on a budget, ensuring they remain financially positive, alongside having to deal with managing research, keeping guests happy, and advancing the Accreditation Level to unlock more species.

Sandbox Mode, meanwhile, has none of those restrictions and offers complete creative freedom, including a variety of customizable settings to manage things like animal ageing, breeding, and predation.

What Was Challenge Mode in Planet Zoo?

Challenge Mode in the original Planet Zoo was pretty much a carbon copy of Franchise Mode, with the difference being that the Economy and Trading systems were completely offline.

While Franchise Mode allows you to buy and sell animals with other players, a feature that remains in Planet Zoo 2, Challenge Mode was offline, which meant it could often take some time for the available animals to refresh.

Additionally, Challenge Mode did not allow for the sharing of research progress, and you had to start again with every new zoo you made.
