The Biodiversity Rating in Planet Zoo 2 is the main indicator for how the Wildlife Reserves you have created are performing, acting as the equivalent to the Reputation system for the zoos in the game.

Each Wildlife Reserve has a rating, with a maximum of five stars, and while it’s not the be and end all for the overall score, the Biodiversity Rating has a major part to play in the number of stars you are awarded.

Increasing the overall score of a Wildlife Reserve is extremely important, particularly in Franchise mode, as some content is locked behind your Accreditation Level, which the scores of your Wildlife Reserves play into.

How to Increase Biodiversity Rating in Planet Zoo 2?

The biodiversity rating in Planet Zoo 2 is an indication on the number of species you have available in the Wildlife Reserve you have built, and the roles they provide to the environment.

It’s not just about having as many species as possible, however, as the roles are crucial. For example, having a variety of herbivores may look good on paper, but your Biodiversity Score isn’t going to increase drastically without balancing that out with predators.

Adding predators can be tricky, however, as their requirements are often intertwined with the other species in a Wildlife Reserve, and cannot be added until there is sufficient prey, for example.

In general though, just keep an eye on what species you can add to the Wildlife Reserve and what you are missing. Remember, release groups must be researched, though, so the first step is adding them to a zoo, researching them, and, ideally, breeding young to be released.
