How to find Archaeopteryx spawn locations in Ark Survival Ascended
The Archaeopteryx in Ark Survival Ascended is certainly hard to pronounce, and it's also a little tricky to find.
In Ark Survival Ascended, not all dinosaurs are giant reptilian creatures. Some, like the Archaeopteryx, are much smaller and more avian in shape and size. The Archaeopteryx is a tricky one to spot, and certainly a hard one to catch.
Where is the Archaeopteryx in Ark Survival Ascended?
The Archaeopteryx is very difficult to find in Ark Survival Ascended, trust me. Due to their frightful nature and small size, these bird-like creatures can be found scuttling across the forest floor or gliding from perch to perch.
In The Island map, currently the only one in Ark Survival Ascended, you’ll find the Archaeopteryx most commonly in the landmass in the middle of the island, surrounded by streams of water.
Look closely at the forest floor and high up at the tree line, as that’s where they’ll be. It took me a long while before I found my first one, so you may have to prepare for quite the bird-watching session.

What are the Spawn Stats for Archaeopteryx in Ark Survival Ascended?
Below is a list of the spawn stats for the Archaeopteryx in Ark Survival Ascended.

Naturally, this tiny thing is rather weak, but it is quick and can glide. Upon being tamed, all stats, aside from Torpidity, will receive an increase, making your Archaeopteryx stronger than the rest, which will sorely be needed.
How to Tame an Archaeopteryx in Ark Survival Ascended
If you want to tame an Archaeopteryx in Ark Survival Ascended, then you’ll have to have a sharp eye and be very quick. Due to their speed and ability to glide, you may be better off using ranged weapons, as the knockout method is the only way to tame them.
Using either tranquilizer tools, or a slingshot (or club, if you’re lucky), you can increase its torpidity enough to knock it unconscious. Then, you can feed it food and watch the tame meter increase as it digests the food.
Archaeopteryxes eat Chitin and Simple Kibble, so quite a select diet. You’ll only need small food samples to win over the small thing. When it wakes up, it’ll be yours!
