Easiest way to farm Exotic Class Item in Destiny 2, explained

Here's how to easily farm Exotic Class Items in D2.

Exotic Class items can have dozens of different powerful perk combinations. The best part is you don’t even need to do the Exotic mission once you’ve done it for the first time. Here’s the easiest way to farm any Exotic Class Item in Destiny 2, explained.

How to farm Exotic Class Items in Destiny 2

Before we dive in, I will be heading into spoiler territory with this one, so consider yourself warned. To use this farming method, you must have beaten the Dual Destiny Exotic Quest at least once and unlocked the Class item with your chosen character.

There are two ways to farm Exotic Class items. You’re guaranteed a Class Item every time you beat the Dual Destiny quest. The issue with this method is the mission takes almost an hour to clear; it’s difficult, and you need two players.

If you’re solo or want a more relaxed method of obtaining Class Items, you can get them as a rare drop from Pale Heart chests. Head to any area in the Pale Heart. I like the Landing for its aesthetics, but you can go anywhere. Once you’ve landed, roam the area for chests and open any you see.

You can use your Sparrow or Skimmer to get around, but there’s an even lazier method.

Use the Wombo Detector mod on your Ghost (pictured above). The mod marks any nearby chests on your HUD, so you don’t need to search to find them. Oddly enough, you can boost this mod’s effectiveness by using a Sniper Rifle scope to look around. Chests will be highlighted at an extended range without you needing to travel.

You can find class items this way, but the drop rate is low. Your mileage may vary, but I’m an impatient player and get bored of this playstyle, so don’t kill the game for yourself.

Exotic Class Items can roll with powerful perks, but they aren’t always as strong as existing Exotic armor pieces, so the classics are still viable.
