There are a variety of weapons to choose from in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, but having access to the best is going to increase your chances of making it to the end and walking away with a chicken dinner. As you scavenge through the map, be sure to keep a look out for assault rifles, which offer some of the best range and damage in the game. To help you out, we’ve put together a list of some of the best assault rifles in PUBG, so check it out to get a leg up on the enemy.
Best Assault Rifles in PUBG
There are currently five assault rifles that players can find and use in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and knowing which ones you should ignore, and which ones you should look for is important if you want to stay alive and increase your chances of winning. Of course, having no weapon isn’t an option either, so make sure you aren’t ignoring weapons that will help you out while you keep an eye out for the three best assault rifles that we have listed below.
It should be noted as well that the assault rifles indicated below have been chosen based off of the stats that the community has put together. This information will change over time, and we’ll do our best to make sure we keep our article up to date with the latest information so that you always know which assault rifles are the best.
Groza
If you’re looking for a great assault rifle that has plenty of damage, range, and rushes to empty its magazine, then the Groza is just what you’re looking for. This weapon also features the highest fire-rate of any of the assault rifles, the Groza is perfect for slamming a ton of bullets into your enemies as quickly as possible. The only real downfall here is that this gun is extremely hard to find, so you’ll probably only come across it once in a blue moon as you explore the map and take down enemies.
- Ammo: 7.62
- Damage: 48
- Magazine Capacity: 30
- Range: 100-400
- Bullet Speed: 715
- Fire Rate: .080s
AKM
If you’re having trouble finding the Groza, then you’ll most likely end up with an AKM in your hands at some point. This assault rifle is found all over the map—no matter which one you’re playing—and it’s definitely one of the better options available to players when it comes to assault rifles. While the AKM features the slowest fire-rate of the assault rifles in the game, it’s still our go-to thanks to its great feel and smooth performance in almost any combat encounter.
- Ammo: 7.62
- Damage: 48
- Magazine Capacity: 30
- Range: 100-400
- Bullet Speed: 715
- Fire Rate: .100s
SCAR-L
This assault rifle has moved quite a bit over the past 9 months as PUBG developers through early access, but it looks like the developers have found the perfect place for it, and while it isn’t as easily found as the AKM, you’ll still come across it more than you’ll come across the Groza. It has the second slowest fire rate in the assault rifle class, but it more than makes up for its slow fire rate by offering control and accuracy.
- Ammo: 5.56
- Damage: 41
- Magazine Capacity: 30
- Range: 100-600
- Bullet Speed: 870
- Fire Rate: .096s
Now, just because these assault rifles feature the best stats doesn’t mean the M416 and the M16A4 are unusable. In fact, we’ve made use of both of these assault rifles quite a bit throughout our time with PUBG, and they offer plenty of firepower to get the job done when the AKM, SCAR-L, and Groza aren’t readily available. Furthermore, you’ll find these two a bit more often than the three we’ve listed above, so keep that in mind when looting your way to victory.
