Queenbreaker’s Bow

If you want the Queenbreaker’s Bow, the first thing you have to do is get the Elder Cipher Exotic Bounty, and this is done by killing the final boss in the level 34 and level 35 Prison of Elders. Personally, we have never seen it drop on the 34, but it definitely drops on the 35. This isn’t a guarantee, so you may not get it on your first successful 35 run of Prison of Elders. If that’s the case, just try it again. You will also want to make sure you have an open slot for a Bounty, and take note that this Bounty drops after killing the boss, not in the Treasure Room.

After obtaining the Elder Cipher Exotic Bounty, head back to The Reef and speak with Variks. He will give you a choice between the Lord of Wolves, Dreg’s Promise, or Queenbreaker’s Bow. You can choose any option you want, and you’ll get a chance to change your mind later on. For this guide, we’re obviously going with the Queenbreaker’s Bow.

The next thing that you’ll need to do is go back to the Prison of Elders and play on either level 32, level 34 or level 35. You will also need a Treasure Key, as the Queen’s Cipher you need is only found in the big chest in the Treasure Room. It’s also not a guarantee, so if you don’t get it on your first shot you will have to try another Prison of Elders on a different difficulty.

Head back to The Reef and speak with Variks again. He will tell you to wait, and this can take some time. It might be a day or two before he has a notification above his head indicating you need to speak with him. It varies from one player to the next, so just keep waiting until he summons you. At this point he will tell you that the only way to fix the Elder Cipher is by defeating enemies in the Prison of Elders. You need a total of 1,000 points, and the breakdown is as follows.

  • Level 28 Boss = 75
  • Level 32 Boss = 200
  • Level 34 Boss = 350
  • Level 35 Boss = 450

As you can see, you’ll need to run through the Prison of Elders several more times. The bonus here is that you don’t need a Treasure Key. This is simply a modified XP that you need to earn. If you know you can whoop Skolas, head in there two times and you should get it done. You also get points for the boss that you fight in Round 4 of Prison of Elders on 35, which is enough to put you over the top.

When you’re done, head back to The Reef and claim your Queenbreaker’s Bow. Now that you’re well-armed, set off on an adventure, and let us help with our Destiny: House of Wolves Walkthrough and Guide.
