Even if you were never a fan of Breaking Bad, most people seem to be familiar with Walter White, the mild mannered high school chemistry teacher turned villainous meth manufacturer. As it turns out, that includes the team behind Watch Dogs, Ubisoft Montreal. While there are quite a number of secrets in the game, there are at least two clever references to the great Heisenberg.

I Am the One Who Hacks

Back in Season 4 – Episode 6: Cornered, Walter and his wife Skyler talk about the risks involved in White’s meth business. During that episode, the two have the following conversation.

Skyler: Walt, please, let’s both of us stop trying to justify this whole thing and admit you’re in danger!

White: Who are you talking to right now? Who is it you think you see? Do you know how much I make a year? I mean, even if I told you, you wouldn’t believe it. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided to stop going into work? A business big enough that it could be listed on the NASDAQ goes belly up. Disappears! It ceases to exist without me. No, you clearly don’t know who you’re talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger. A guy opens his door and gets shot and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!

The final part of that conversation has become quite popular since the episode first aired, popping up in Internet memes at a rapid pace. Because of this, it only took players a short time to find a reference in Watch Dogs. As players drive through the city, they’ll notice certain billboards that can be hacked to reveal various messages. While it is random, if you hack them frequently enough you’re bound to end up seeing the billboard featured below.

Galtero Blanco – Laundry Manager

There’s an awful lot of people to profile in Watch Dogs. So many, in fact, that you’re likely to pass over a few Easter Eggs. Lucky for all of us, Reddit user PresidentLink spotted this one.

For those who aren’t familiar, Galtero is loosely tied to the name Walter, while the last name, Blanco, is the Spanish word for White. If you continue to read the profile, it turns out that Walter White is listed as a Laundry Manager, another piece of evidence that makes this Easter Egg undeniable. For those unfamiliar with the show, one of Mr. White’s covers involved working at a laundry service while he was busy producing methamphetamine in an underground lab. As if this evidence wasn’t definitive enough, the man laying on the ground was diagnosed with terminal cancer, something that happened to Walter in the show’s pilot episode.  The only thing that doesn’t match is the photograph, as Heisenberg sported a goatee during the majority of the show.
