Path of Exile 2 Early Access Preload Date and Time Revealed

Path of Exile 2 launches into early access across all major platforms very soon, and it’s a huge download no matter where you get it. Grinding Gear Games has heard the players’ call and confirmed that Path of Exile 2 will be available to preload ahead of its release, giving players some time to download the massive ARPG on their preferred platforms. Here is everything you need to know about the Path of Exile 2 early access preload.
Path of Exile 2 Early Access Preload Date and Time
PC players will be able to preload Path of Exile 2 through the official client on December 5, 2024, at 5 PM PST. The client will be available to download directly through the Path of Exile 2 website as well as via a torrent file provided by Grinding Gear Games. This gives players around 18 hours to download the title ahead of its release. You can check when the pre-load starts for your time zone here.
The preload has not been announced for Steam, which is likely because Steam doesn’t allow users to preload early-access titles. However, Steam users can still download the client from the official website as long as their accounts are linked to Path of Exile.
If you still want to download the title exclusively through Steam though, you’ll likely have to wait till the launch unless Grinding Gear Games figures out a way to let Steam users download the game early through the Steam client as well.
Path of Exile 2 Consoles Preload Date and Time
Xbox users can preload Path of Exile 2 on their preferred console right now, while PlayStation 5 users who purchased the Founder’s Pack can preload Path of Exile 2 24 hours before the official launch.

Path of Exile 2 requires at least 100 GB to install on PC based on the system requirements. While the exact download size of the preload for individual platforms isn’t listed, we expect it to be around the same size.

The developers confirmed in the pre-download announcement that players should expect additional updates at launch, but the bulk of the download will be covered during the preload period.
