Most Rematch Players Look Like They Belong in Blue Lock
All-striker team!

Rematch is one of the most entertaining football games I have ever played, but there has been a common denominator in most of my matches: almost everyone plays the game as though they’re part of the Blue Lock manga.
Rematch Players Are Dribbling Like They Are Blue Lock’s Seishiro Nagi

For those who don’t know Blue Lock, it has been one of the best-selling manga series since 2023. It is also a popular anime with a few feature movies. Blue Lock is all about an experiment in creating the “perfect” striker to lead Japan to the World Cup.
They’ll pit hundreds of high school soccer players and let them compete in challenges, most of which are in an enclosed versus arena.
If you played Rematch already, you know where this leads.
In Blue Lock, the focus is more on finding the ultimate striker, emphasizing having all the perfect attributes an attacking player could have. Speed, ball control, striking, athleticism, and power are just a few characteristics players look for in a striker.
Some players in Rematch try to embody this, maybe even without knowing about Blue Lock, by dribbling nonstop to attack even when surrounded by multiple defenders.
The pass button just isn’t there for some of these players, and they’ll stop at nothing to perform tricky dribbles to get by marks or use rainbow flicks to their heart’s content and try to shoot even if there’s an open player on the other side.
Even when the goalkeeping rotates among the players per round, they’ll grab the ball as a goalkeeper and run straight, leaving the team’s goal defenseless.
While this might be a toxic red flag, you cannot help but cheer for those who actually succeed in masterfully beating two defenders and the goalkeeper all by their lonesome.
Rematch is Almost Meant to be Played With Friends

If you don’t want to see these players, you’ll need to bring your own along. Currently, the 3v3 format is one of the most popular modes, so it is much easier to form a group with your friends.
Since Rematch emphasizes cooperation, you’ll need proper communication to make plays and perform better as a team. You don’t want to rely on fixed keyphrases to tell your teammates you are open. With open voice comms, you can be more specific, like asking for a cross instead of a direct pass. Those crucial seconds matter, and playing with someone else helps you win more and makes the game way more entertaining.
