Is the Fantasy Finds DLC Worth it in Two Point Museum?

The new random interactions between NPCs are already worth it!

Two Point Museum releases its first paid DLC, Fantasy Finds, adding your very own fantasy exhibits to your fancy museum. Fantasy Finds introduces a new expedition map to explore, exhibits to uncover, enhanced mechanics for expeditions, more fantastical displays, and more.

Fantasy Finds costs $7.99 and adds all this new content, but is it worth the price? Let’s find out.

Should You Buy Two Point Museum’s Fantasy Finds DLC?

Two Point Museum’s Fantasy Finds adds the following features to the base game:

  • 40+ new exhibits with magical properties
  • New Expert type with subclasses
  • New fantasy expedition map to explore
  • Exclusive fantastical interactive displays
  • New event dangers and puzzles
  • Exclusive decorations, items, and utility items
  • Helicopter paint job
  • 3 new guest archetypes

Now, most of these should already entice a Two Point games fan to get all the new displays, decorations, and items, along with the additional gameplay mechanics.

For those a little more thrifty, is the additional gameplay content enough to warrant buying the DLC and playing a new playthrough?

The additional expedition map adds another layer to expeditions, which is almost as large, or maybe even bigger, than a whole new museum area.

First, you’ll get a new set of experts with different subclasses and skills. When you run an expedition in the new expedition map, Scorched Earth, you’ll see a different expedition setup. Instead of preparing for certain seasons like summer or winter, you’ll play around with stats, fitting for the fantasy genre.

Your experts should have stats like Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Luck, and those would factor in when you are doing expeditions. There would be events that require a specific stat to overcome a challenge, while also incorporating previous requirements, such as needing an expert with a Survival skill to run a particular expedition.

It adds a whole different layer to expeditions, but strictly for the fantasy expedition map (Scorched Earth). However, the Scorched Earth will be available for each of the museums, giving you different layouts to play with using all the 40+ new fantasy exhibits in the Fantasy Finds DLC.

To complement the new expedition mechanics, there’s also a new workshop where you’ll brew potions to help with expeditions. These potions heavily impact your fantasy expert’s stats, giving you a more favorable expedition run when you use the right potions.

Verdict

Apart from the additional displays and decorations, these sum up all the content available in the Fantasy Finds DLC. Is it worth it?

Personally, I have loved all the Two Point Studios games. I started with Two Point Campus first and went back to play Two Point Hospital. I would say that they continuously improve with each game, with Two Point Museum being the most enjoyable, mostly because they continue to add amazing features while retaining all the great elements from their previous games.

With that in mind, I would say the additional content for Fantasy Finds is totally worth it for $7.99. Some may say it lacks content for that price, but considering how Two Point Studios already gave a free update that added a whole new museum to the game, you have to give them credit.
