Gearbox Software and 2K Games’ critically acclaimed first-person action RPG, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, is now available to own on NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV. Here are five key pieces of strategic information that will help you on your mission to regain control of Helios and vanquish the Lost Legion in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on SHIELD.

Cooperation is Key
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel’s single-player campaign can prove to be quite challenging. Things are a lot easier if you opt for cooperative play with three other fellow loot hunters. For example, if you all enter into the game in a truly sharing way, higher level players can allow lower level players to take the lion’s share of the loot and thus upgrade themselves and contribute equally to the team dynamic.

Use Low Gravity to Your Tactical Advantage
You’re on Pandora’s moon and as such you can take advantage of the low gravity situation in which you find yourself in. Jumping around is slow, but the low gravity means you can jump higher, especially with a double jump. In combat this can be extremely useful as you level the playing field against enemies who attack from above. Jump pads are to be found that can launch you even higher so use all these abilities to explore otherwise unreachable places, both for cover during battles and to discover caches of loot. All this leaping comes at a price. Your oxygen is limited so look out for opportunities to replenish your air supply. Air vents, bubbles and tanks should be sought out at every available opportunity.

Sometimes Ignore Instructions
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from The Pre-Sequel it’s that sometimes we shouldn’t just do what we’re told. Two examples spring to mind. First, when you get to a level called “Let’s Build a Robot Army” you will be asked to stand back and let the turrets kill the oncoming Scavs. Ignore that. Instead kill the Scavs yourself. The challenge will end when the turrets have killed 12 Scavs, but if you keep stealing the kills you get more and more XP. Eventually the turrets will reach their target but in the meantime you will have harvested a whole lot of experience. Second, when you embark on the Guardian Hunter quest, make sure you have plenty of ammo. You will be required to capture a Fire Guardian but instead kill it. Don’t worry, the game won’t punish you. Instead the Guardian will keep on respawning and you can keep killing it for a whopping XP bonus with each kill.

It’s Elemental
There are elemental characteristics to your weapon capabilities. Shock provides an electrical attack, incendiary is fire based, cryo freezes things… you get the idea. The point being that if you familiarize yourself with these abilities you will be able to deploy you weapons much more effectively. Cryo equipped weapons can freeze or slow down an enemy, while corrosive weapons will degrade heavily armored foes quite significantly.

Be the Boss
If you find yourself facing the final boss, here’s a bit of advice on how to deal with the situation.
The Sentinel attacks you over four different phases. His main means of attack is his staff so boost away from him and keep your distance. There’s plenty of ammo around so keep replenishing and chipping away at him when you get the opportunity. After defeating him he comes back as the even more fearsome Empyrean Sentinel. This guy throws out electrical attacks that make the floor a deadly prospect so use the platforms to avoid that. He also spews out corrosive matter restricting your movement. Concentrate your fire on his protective mask and when that is destroyed keep going for his face, all the while staying distant.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is now available to download on SHIELD Android TV via Google Play for $14.99.
