The Best Things to do After Beating Destiny – Loot Cave, Vault of Glass

by Prima Games Staff

Nearly two months after its initial release, it’s safe to assume that most people completed the campaign in Destiny. In fact, they’ve probably done this multiple times over to get their hands on an Exotic Engram, all the while keeping an eye out for Loot Cave 9.0 or whatever crazy version we’re up to at this point.

If that scenario sounds familiar, you’ve probably been stuck in the grind. The good news is, there’s a lot more to Destiny than getting ripped off by the Cryptarch on a daily basis. Why not take a break and check out a couple of the ideas we’ve come up with to help you pass the time until the next Iron Banner event, and the upcoming expansion, The Dark Below?

Complete the Vault of Glass

As time ticks on, there are more and more people completing the Vault of Glass, but there are still plenty of players out there who have yet to attempt it. Currently, it’s perhaps the most challenging thing you can do in-game, needing to be properly ranked up and in a squad if you have even the smallest hope of making it through.

Not only did we cover several tips to help you prepare for the Vault of Glass, but we also linked a few videos that will hold your hand through the entire process. If you hit the proverbial wall in Destiny, why not gather up three gaming buddies and throw down?

The Gold Chest Treasure Hunt

Were you aware that there are 20 Gold Chests to be found in Destiny, split up into five on each of the four planets? Also, did you know that collecting all five of these Gold Chests on Earth, the Moon, Venus and Mars will give you an in-game reward? Just so we’re not wasting your time, let’s just pretend you weren’t aware.

If you’re looking for a way that you and a couple of friends can kill a few hours in-game, why not make sure you each have all 20 Gold Chests? Not only will doing so give you rewards for your efforts, but your inner achievement hunter will be temporarily satisfied.

What’s that? You’re not sure where to find them? Oh, well why don’t you take a look at our handy guide that will lead you to all 20?

Check Out the Loot Cave Easter Egg

We have a small confession to make. When we first discovered the original Loot Cave, we spent hours (and we do mean hours) standing in one place and shooting hopeless foes in search of that elusive purple Engram. Don’t lie, we know you were right there with us.

Well, we all know that Bungie put the kibosh on that nonsense, only to have Loot Cave 2.0 and then Loot Cave 3.0 pop up in its place. What some players don’t know, however, is that there’s still a very good reason to go back to where it all began.

Shortly after shutting down the legendary loot farm, Bungie placed a nifty little Easter egg there for the community that it clearly (although innocently) underestimated. Go check out the original Loot Cave, or watch the video below. Guardian’s choice.

Go on Patrol Missions

If you prefer to kick back and shoot aliens by the hundreds, settle in and enjoy Patrol Missions on each location. Identified by blinking green beacons, these short challenges usually involve slaughtering a certain number of creatures or picking up items left behind by the deceased. You can team up with friends or go it alone. For your efforts, you’ll receive reputation, and there’s a good chance you’ll also complete bounties you picked up while at The Tower.
