Welcome to the new PrimaGames.com, everyone!
First, I should start off by acknowledging all the other, far more talented, people that actually built this site. We can thank our friends at Gamer Network and our in-house web dev guru and railfan, Mike Roque. Great job all around!
Now to the important part: YOU. The readers.
Thanks for joining us again, for the very first time, for your first visit in months, for the first time on your mobile phone, tablet, or, if you’re reading this in the future, on your shiny new console.
We couldn’t be more excited to re-launch today with a brand-spanking new site! After months of long days, bug fixes, and some really tough choices (like cutting-room floor type stuff for phase two), we now have a site that is responsive to you! When I say that, I mean responsive to your content needs and to the device that you’re using.
Let’s start with the content. During our last year of growth (thanks for that!) we noticed that your visiting habits were changing. You seemed to enjoy our overall gaming coverage, but you were (are) coming to PrimaGames.com primarily for strategy content. Walkthroughs, beginners’ tips, advanced strategy, all that. So we’re giving you more. A ton more.
We’ve teamed up with our friends at Gamer Network – you may know them from such hits as Eurogamer, USGamer, NintendoLife, and OutsideXbox – and have increased the amount of strategy content for every title from triple A, record setting blockbusters to smaller critically acclaimed hits. We’re also stepping up our game with video. Gamers watch a ton of videos! (Maybe this should’ve been a video message… Doh!) So we’re incorporating more video strategy on a regular basis and even kicking things up 10 notches on Twitch.TV. And, of course, we’ll always share more and more content from all of our official releases.
Now, if you’re into technology, I can talk a bit about that. But all you need to know is this: the site will work better, faster, and is ready for mobile and next gen consoles. Now-a-days people don’t care as much how it works, just that it does. However, if you’re a tech-savvy person, know that the new site is built with responsive design specifically to address our increasing mobile traffic (again, thanks for that!).
What we’re especially excited to re-launch is our eGuide platform! Just like the rest of the site, it’s been rebuilt from the ground up with portability in mind. Not only is the new eGuide slicker and mobile ready, but it’s a far better experience for the end users. There are a few bells and whistles under the hood that you may not notice right away, but once you do, we’re confident that you’ll enjoy them. What you will notice right away is the brand new user experience and beautiful new interface (take it for a spin on tablet if you have one!) designed for ease of use, clarity, and focusing on the content you’re looking for.
I’ll be honest with you. Some of the old content on the site didn’t make the trip over. These are some of the tough decisions we had to make during the process – do we spend time trying to make those old things work or do we concentrate on the rest of the user experience going forward. So we don’t expect our full site re-launch to be without its fair share of hiccups. After all, nothing launches these days without a set-back or two. So if you do notice some sawdust or loose hinges, please don’t hesitate to drop us a line at [email protected]. We have all hands on deck ready to make this the best possible experience for you, so please do share your thoughts.
