Does any character get benched faster in a Fire Emblem game than the ones you beat the tutorial with? Generally, these characters come with middling stats and nothing to write home about growth, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be viable. And that’s the case with the Divine Dragon’s first healer, Framme. Here’s the best class for Framme in Fire Emblem Engage.
Best Class for Framme in Fire Emblem Engage
Framme and her twin brother are both loyal stewards of the Divine Dragon, and they’ll do anything to keep her alive and safe. To that end, Framme begins her time with Alear as a Martial Monk. But is that where she should stay? Let’s take a look at Framme’s growth rates:
HP | STR | MAG | DEX | SPD | DEF | RES | LCK | BLD |
55 | 30 | 25 | 35 | 55 | 25 | 30 | 25 | 0 |
Not bad, not great. But we can definitely cook with this. But what you do with her will likely reflect what level of difficulty you’re on.
Are you on Maddening? If so, the answer is clear: Martial Master because it maintains access to Chain Guard. For those not in the know, Chain Guard can be triggered by Qi Adept units with full HP who are adjacent to a unit being attacked by an enemy. The targeted ally will take 0 damage from the attack, and the Qi Adept will instead take damage equal to 20% of their maximum health. This will keep your army alive, and that’s the most important thing.
Martial Masters also have the ability Diffuse Healer. This ability provides that when a unit is healed by a staff, all adjacent allies also recover 50% of the HP that the unit recovered. That does mean you’ll need another healer in the mix. Still, the area of effect heal can be helpful, especially if you pair it with Emblem Ring Corrin, who offers Quality Time+, an ability that restores 10 HP to adjacent allies. This ability pairs well with how Framme is played as a Martial Master.

If you’re not on Maddening, you have more options. The most supportive of those options is High Priest, as it will allow her to offer consistent heals to her team and herself. This will let her move with split-off squads, which happens more frequently in later chapters, and if you combine her Emblem Ring Byleth, she’ll offer more utility. Byleth’s Engage Skill, instruct, will grant Mag +4 to targets for one turn, but what’s even more helpful is the Engage Attack, Goddess Dance. This skill grants all adjacent allies another round of actions, which is extremely useful.
