Trainers only have until January 23 to complete all the tasks or challenges in the event, and there are plenty that can be done. Each Field Research Task that is event specific will feature one of the themed wild spawns. These always have higher chances to be shiny with fantastic stats. Find all of the Lunar New Year Field Research tasks further below.

Pokemon GO – All Lunar New Year 2023 Field Research Tasks

In total, there are four different event-specific Field Research Tasks that Trainers can take on in this event. As long as you spin PokeStops while the Lunar New Year is live in Pokemon GO, one of these tasks should appear. Below you can find each task and all of the possible encounter rewards.

Field Research Tasks – Lunar New Year 2023

  • Catch 25 Pokemon – Darumaka, Galarian Darumaka
  • Trade a Pokemon – Paras, Combee
  • Send 3 Gifts That Have a Sticker Attached – Buneary, Bunnelby
  • Open 3 Gifts – Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Chimchar, Tepig, Fennekin, Litten

Most of the encounters on the Field Research list can be shiny, so there are plenty of chances for rare catches. The only Pokemon that don’t have a shiny variation are Litten and Fennekin. Eventually, these will have a shiny form as well, but we’ll have to wait until well after the Lunar New Year 2023 event is over in Pokemon GO. In the meantime, send all the gifts that you can and get some lucky catches.
