Pikmin 2 Special Edition On Wii

The little alien plant dudes are coming back to the Wii with a special edition of the classic GameCube sequel.

With the announcement that a new Pikmin game for the Wii U will be shown at this year’s E3, fans everywhere probably can’t wait to play with the multi-colored little dudes.  Fortunately, it doesn’t look like they’ll have to!  According to a report from Nintendo Power Magazine, Nintendo is prepping yet another entry in its Play Control series for the Nintendo Wii with Pikmin 2.

In the sequel, you’ll once again guide around the little guys, this time using motion control, as you solve puzzles and battle enemies with decisive moves using your multitude of alien servants.

The special edition of the game was originally released in Europe a while back along with Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Mario Tennis and the original Pikmin.  We got all three of those games on our shelves, but never received Pikmin 2.  With the lull of Wii releases coming this summer, Nintendo probably just felt like giving its players something to do while official Wii U info is being prepared.

The game is estimated to sell for around $29.99 and should come out sometime this summer.  Hope you haven’t forgotten how useful the Pikmin can be…
