How to Get Annihilape in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

One Pokemon has been underrated since Generation 1, despite getting some primo shots with main man Ash Ketchum. And that’s Primeape. Primeape has everything you want in a Pokemon: round, fluffy, no opposable thumbs. And yet, The Pokemon Company looked down upon Primeape and said, Ye, fluffy monkey son, have lived in obscurity for far too long. We shall give you a new form, and your enemies will look upon you and tremble.

And thus, Annihilape was resurrected, like Lazarus, gaining a Ghost typing to complement its Fighting Typing. But Annihilape is a little more useful than Lazarus in battle. It has solid stats all around, with high attack and a surprising amount of bulk. In fact, the more attacks it takes, the better, as it only powers up Annihilape’s signature move: Rage Fist. So, how do you get this Pokemon for yourself in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

How to Get Annihilape in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

There’s a bit of a trick to getting this Ghost/Fighting-type on your team. First, level up a Mankey to Primeape like normal (or simply catch a Primeape). Level up your Primeape to level 35, when it learns Rage Fist.

From here, you’ll need to use Rage Fist twenty different times. This is actually incredibly easy to keep track of, as Rage Fist only has 10 PP. Once you’ve hit zero on it, either run back to a Pokemon Center or slap an Ether on it to start the process again.

After you’ve used Rage Fist 20 times, you’ll need to evolve Primeape through an actual, turn-based battle or use Rare Candies or Exp. Candies to level it up. The actual level Primeape is at doesn’t matter, just that it has, and uses, Rage Fist. So if you can find a level 10 Primeape, you can potentially have a level 11 Annihilape.

Primeape should evolve, and you’ll have a new jaw breaker on your team!
